About Scott armey

About Scott

Scott Armey was born in Sherman, Texas and has lived in Denton County and the 26th Congressional district since 1972. A graduate of the University of North Texas, Armey was elected to serve as Denton County Commissioner and Denton County Judge from
1992-2002.

A proven conservative, Armey cut the county tax rate, while providing increased services to a growing community. He modernized our county road system, and leveraged local dollars to build the state roads we rely on today. He also helped important non-profit organizations like PediPlace and the Children’s Advocacy Center of North Texas get their start in our community.

From 2002-2009, Armey served as Regional Administrator for the U.S. General Services Administration.  His duties included maintaining border stations in Texas and New Mexico, and to acquire and improve the equipment and resources used by our border patrol agents.  During Armey’s tenure, he also expanded the programs that allowed local governments to purchase needed law enforcement equipment directly from Federal contracts.

Since leaving public office, Armey has built a career as a private wealth advisor with Ameriprise. He is married to Carisa Fischer Armey, a special education teacher with Lewisville ISD. They live in Corinth, Texas, and have twin daughters attending Texas A&M. Their son, Avery, graduated cum laude from Texas Tech University in 2020 with degrees in Economics and Political Science. He passed away later that year at the age of 22.
